Giant pandas are on the brink of extinction, with just over 1,000 pandas left in the world. Scientists are hoping to increase the wild panda population to 5,000 by 2025.
Bamboo is the most important plant in a giant panda’s life. They spend at least 12 hours each day eating bamboo. Pandas grasp bamboo stalks with their five fingers and a special wristbone. They use their teeth to peel off the tough outer layers of the stalk to reveal the soft inner tissue. They also eat the leaves.

This was a painting lesson. Acrylic paint on canvas board.
First the kids painted the blue sky. Mixing white and blue together.
We used a template to draw in the round shape of the head. They next drew the eyes, ears and arms and feet in with a dark colored pencil, after that was done the only thing left to do was fill it all in with paint.
